Questions and Answers
What's the Plan?
Have a look at the Itinerary page for more information about when and where everything is happening.
Are my children invited?
Due to the guest number restriction at our venue, we are unable to extend this invitation to your children. We hope that you will see this as an opportunity to enjoy a grown ups only event, let your hair down and enjoy the party with us!
Our nieces and nephews may attend the ceremony and the reception only. The After Party would not be appropriate for young children.
What is the dress code?
Smart-casual. The wedding will be relaxed and informal. Think "bohemian summer dance festival". The groom won't be wearing a tie, so please don't feel like you have to. The bride will be wearing Havaianas not heels.
Having said that, if you do want to dress up there is absolutely no reason why not! The bride's maids will certainly be wearing their party frocks (well... at least the female ones will be).
Top tip: Pack your flip-flops for dancing!
How will I get to the church?
If you plan to take your own car you can find a map on the Where & When page.
There will be a bus to collect wedding guests from St Brelade's Bay hotel at 11:00 am and take them to the Church for the ceremony. The bus will collect the guests after the ceremony and return them to the hotel for the reception.
If you would like a seat on the wedding bus, please do let us know as there are only 43 seats and we don't want anyone to be disappointed - it's a long walk!
I have special dietry requirements. how do I know my meal will be suitable?
First of all, don't panic! We know some of you are vegan, gluten intolerant, celiac, kosher, allergic to alliums, fussy eaters, etc.
St Brelade's Bay Hotel have an online portal called "tell the chef" where you can choose your starter and main course from our menu selection. Whilst doing so you can inform the chef of any diary requirements or special requests.
So, if you want that salmon starter but you can't stand crab meat, you can inform the chef online.
What time does the after party start?
The After Party starts at 7:00 pm. We'd love our evening guests to arrive before the first dance.
What time is the first dance?
Some time around 8:00 pm (subject to there being a sufficiently large enough crowd gathered to watch).
What time does the after party finish?
Sadly, the hotel has a live music curfew of 12:00 am so the DJ really must go home at pumpkin hour! I'm sure a few of us will prop-up the bar until we are kicked out or pass out.
